The Rev. Dr. John Kenneth Gibson

A lifelong Episcopalian. John was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. He moved to North Carolina when his father was transferred to Mebane.

A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Yale Divinity School, Duke Divinity School and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, John loves to learn. He is currently studying Spanish in hopes of starting an outreach ministry with the Latino community.

John joined Grace in December 2013 after having served as Assistant to the Rector of St. Paul’s in Cary; Vicar and Rector of The Prince of Peace, Apex, and Senior Associate Rector of St. Michael's, Raleigh.

Pastoral care, teaching, preaching, congregational development and outreach are his passions.

John is married to Cindy. He has three adult stepsons and two grandsons.  John and Cindy live in Cary, where they enjoy exercising at the Y and watching movies together.

People often ask whether they should call him Father John or Doctor John. Feel free to call him either or simply John.
